Directions:
Select a disorder from the list provided. Research the disorder and prepare a presentation for class. Approved media center websites must be used for research. Your research is worth 50 points and should be turned in as a word document in an outline form before your presentation. The presentation is also worth 50 points and must include all information from the rubric below in sequential order.

Goal:
Your task is to research the origin and ingredients of your assigned pie to help you become proficient in describing and ultimately creating a pie in class. Remember to write down the citation information for each resource that you use during your research.  Use the websites and databases available to you in the library.  This activity will count as a quiz grade.  As you research your pie, please respond to the following questions:

Piaget Project: Create a Children's Toy Catalog

Your Task:  Break into pairs and create a Children's toy "catalog" that includes a toy for each of                           Piaget's stages.   

Research Piaget's stages of development using the internet and any sources available to you in the library.

Your group is to create a catalog using Google Docs, Google Slides, Prezi or a paper presentation that includes the following:

Cover page - illustrates Piaget's theory and your toys

Summary - stages of development using bullet points

Drawing/diagram/internet generated image of the toys you created that are appropriate for each stage.  Your toys should specifically address the needs of children in each stage/age group

Short written description of each toy

Written explanation of why each toy is appropriate for each stage of intellectual development

****for extra credit, you can create a prototype of your toys****

* Once you are on your actual ‘Google Site’ you will then create your Home Page for your Project
o Click the pencil in the top right corner to ‘edit’ your Home Page
o Once you are ready to create tabs on the left side of your ‘Site’, click on the ‘Create Page’ icon and follow the project guidelines.

Senior English Documentation Argument Paper

Your Task:  Write an argument paper in which you logically claim a position for or against your class's chosen proposition.  Your paper must logically and persuasively prove why your position is stronger and or right.  You must also refute any claims against your position.  You must cite three sources to support your opinion, one of which must be a scholarly article.

Guidelines:  You must use at least 3 credible sources from the library databases or a selected
                      library book - 1 must be from a scholarly journal article

Requirements:  Write your ideas as persuasively as possible using the reasoning strategies learned
                           in class.  Your essay must be 3-5 pages, carefully and consistently edited, typed
                           double spaced in 12pt New Roman font.  It must include an original title, in-text
                          citations, and a Works Cited page following MLA format.

Propositions for Debate 2016:

Resolved, the drinking age should be lowered to 18
Resolved, the presidential nominee should be a Republican
Resolved, transgender people should not be not be able to choose the space/place that suites their
   gender identity, but rather their biological sex instead
Resolved, marijuana should be legalized for both medicinal and recreational use
